Privacy Choices

Keep everything on your Mac /

On-device transcription is the default, and RoughCut works fully without any cloud feature. If you never enable an online feature, your media, transcripts, and cut decisions stay in the app's local container on your Mac.

Cloud features are opt-in, per choice /

• Cloud Transcription: only runs when you explicitly choose it for a job; the choice is shown before processing, and on-device transcription remains available.
• AI editing pass: only runs when you enable it and supply your own Gemini or OpenAI API key. Remove the key or disable the feature to stop these transfers.
• Langfuse tracing: off by default; it sends trace data only after you supply your own project keys and enable it, and you can disable it at any time.

Website analytics /

This website uses Google Analytics 4. You can limit or block site storage in your browser settings, browse with content blockers, or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The website works fully without analytics.

Purchases and subscriptions /

Purchases are processed by Apple. You can view, cancel, or manage a RoughCut Pro subscription in your Apple Account's App Store subscription settings, and request refunds through Apple. The developer does not receive your full payment details.

Deleting your data /

RoughCut has no user accounts, and the developer holds no copy of your media, transcripts, or in-app activity. App data lives on your Mac: deleting a job in the app, removing the app's local container, or uninstalling the app removes the data it created. API keys can be removed from the app's settings and are stored in the macOS Keychain.
